South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) will provide a short presentation to assist prospective students learn more about our courses, the training choices available and how to be competitive in the state training admissions process for 2018.
SM TAFE provides high-quality vocational training, apprenticeships, traineeships and short courses that can lead to more than 140 exciting careers. We offer industry training in areas as diverse as aerospace, maritime, oil and gas, mining, science and environmental monitoring, hospitality, community services, information technology and accounting.

The Department’s Australian Apprenticeships Ambassadors Program, which recruits prominent Australians to promote apprenticeships and traineeships, has been recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The program recruits former and current Australian Apprentices ambassadors from a range of backgrounds who have found career success from their studies and who want to share their career success story through a range of communication mediums from speaking at schools, to starring in the Department’s Real Stories Real Achievements video series. 
The program has been added to a United Nations’ technical and vocational education and training’s Promising Practices Database which showcases initiatives from around the world that are improving VET practices

ICT Security is a big trend within our ICT oriented society today. Not only do we need employees to manage and achieve ICT security goals, we also need to promote a social awareness, ensuring that you, the end user, are aware, protected and responsive to ICT security incidents.
South Metropolitan TAFE Lecturer Jean Iwanyk has a strong ICT security background with experience in cyber forensics, identity access management, network and information security. 
With the help of Perth’s largest IT Security providers, Jean has established and is currently delivering the Advanced Diploma of Network Security. ​
